About the Role

APC is seeking a professional and highly organized individual to support the Atlantic First Nations Health Partnership and its associated committees through administrative, logistical, analytical, and coordination support. The successful candidate will coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and meeting packages, record and distribute minutes, track action items, manage stakeholder communications, and support conference and event coordination activities. The role also includes maintaining document management systems, assisting with reports and correspondence, coordinating travel and reimbursements, and supporting broader Health Partnership initiatives and objectives. The successful candidate will work closely with First Nations communities, Health Directors, committees, and partner organizations to support effective collaboration and communication across the region.

Requirements

Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in health, education, human resources, or a related field. A combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered. Applicants should have three to five years of recent experience in health administration, meeting and logistics coordination, or committee support, preferably within a First Nations or Indigenous organization setting. Strong organizational, communication, administrative, and relationship-building skills are required. Experience with minute taking, report preparation, stakeholder coordination, and managing multiple priorities is considered essential. Applicants must possess strong computer skills, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel when required. Knowledge of First Nations healthcare systems, APC member communities, cultures, and traditions is considered a strong asset. The ability to speak or understand Mi’kmaw, Maliseet, or Innu is considered an asset.

The Atlantic Policy Congress of First Nations Chiefs Secretariat (APC) is a regional policy and advocacy organization representing Mi’kmaq, Wolastoqey, Passamaquoddy, and Innu communities across Atlantic Canada and the Gaspé region of Quebec. APC works collaboratively with First Nations leadership, governments, and partners to advance initiatives in health, education, economic development, governance, and social well-being while supporting culturally grounded and community-driven approaches.
