About the Role
Working as part of a team, the Nature Interpreter will deliver Ducks Unlimited educational programming and assist with various wetland education activities and events.
• Traveling to various wetland sites to deliver educational programming and/or outdoor field trips for elementary students.
• Booking and facilitating various wetland education activities and events
•Operate basic technical and scientific equipment related to programs.
•Compiling feedback of education programs.
• Assisting with the care of small animals (such as aquatic insects and reptiles).
• As
• Greet and assist visitors, provide information and respond to requests for information regarding wetlands and their management.
Assets
• Knowledge of wildlife/wetland ecosystems and biology is an asset.
• Bilingualism is an asset.
• Possess valid first aid and CPR training.
• Enthusiasm for the environment, wildlife, and conservation.

Requirements
High School diploma required with priority given to those with a Bachelor’s degree or enrolled in a related field (Biology, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Education, etc.).
Experience working with youth and/or the public.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word and Outlook
Comfortable working as part of a team or independently
Ability to work flexible hours as needed, which may include evenings and weekends at times.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Depending on the location of the position, there may be times where you will be required to travel to various communities or remote areas. A valid driver’s license will be required.
