About the Role

The Red Roads Student will support the day-to-day operations of their assigned department while gaining hands-on experience in a professional work environment. Responsibilities may include assisting with administrative tasks, organizing files and records, supporting community events and activities, conducting research, preparing materials and communications, and assisting staff with ongoing projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn, strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and a positive attitude. Other duties may be assigned as required to support departmental objectives and provide a well-rounded learning experience.

Requirements

Must be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the start of employment.


Must be a registered Status Indian and provide proof of status.


Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.


Must be eligible to participate in the Red Roads program.


Demonstrated interest in gaining work experience and developing professional skills.


Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.


Ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct oneself in a professional manner.


Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is considered an asset.


Previous volunteer, community, school, or work experience is considered an asset.


Reliable transportation is considered an asset, depending on the position and work location.


A willingness to learn and contribute positively to the workplace is essential.
